Stewardship

What do you mean by stewardship?

The use of God-given gifts and resources (time, talent, treasure, relationships) for the accomplishment of God-given goals and objectives.

1. Deepen your relationship with God. How we handle money impacts our relationship with the Lord as well as others. Financial issues involve spiritual issues; how is your relationship with Christ? How is your prayer life (how often do you talk to the Lord)?

2. Welcoming Jesus Christ as Lord of your Life. Money and possessions compete with Christ in our lives. Who is number one in your life?

3. Recognizing God's Ownership; the Lord owns all our possessions. Lord what do you want me to do with your resources?

4. Understanding God's Part and Your Part The Lord is Provider and we are His stewards.

5. Handling Money Faithfully As stewards we will be required to give an account. Are we being faithful in small things as well as the large ones?

6. Holiness and Financial Freedom

Through our work (our vocation), we shape ourselves and the ones we come into contact with. Are we working so as to build up the Kingdom of God?

"Not that I am referring to being in need; for I have learned to be content with whatever I have. I know what it is to have little, and I know what it is to have plenty. In any and all circumstances I have learned the secret of being well-fed and of going hungry, of having plenty and of being in need. I can do all things through Him who strengthens me." Philippians 4:11-13 NSRV

God owns it all and because an owner has rights, I as a steward, only have responsibilities.
